EFFICACY OF SEMDURAMICIN AGAINST COCCIDIOSIS

Aviax 5% is the ionophore of choice for the control of Eimeria maxima, and is excellent in the control of Eimeria tenella, both as
single agent or in combination with Nicarbazin. Can also be used for good control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria acervulina. Fifty
seven studies conducted in floor pens with field strains from Europe and United States (Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria mivati/Eimeria
mitis, Eimeria brunetti, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria necatrix and Eimeria tenella) have shown that the 25 ppm dose of Semduramicin
is effective to control mortality rates, lesion scores, and inhibits weight gain depression when compared to non-infected or nontreated
control groups, for all tested eimeria species (Logan et al., 1993).
